That Fresh Radio Piece

May 8th
# Fresh Piece

* Community Roots
o Dan Lewkowicz, cofounder of Community Roots, returns to TFRP to discuss the recent Mayday State of Emergency Concert organized by C.Roots. We also discuss the community service work of the group, mostly in nearby Langley Park, and what the future holds for C.Roots.
* Four Fifths
o Marlon Amprey, aka Four Fifths, joins us to share some of his spoken word pieces. He discusses in his poetry the state of hip hop today and the prison system. A black man used to be considered 3/5 of a person; we've advanced some since then, but as Marlon's taken name (Four Fifths) suggests, we're not all the way there yet.
* Cars, Global Warming and Solutions for Change
o We play part of a radio documentary from Free Speech Radio News produced by Martha Baskin.
