+ TFRP journeyed to another event during the recent UMD Call to Activism week, this one held by the Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) and the Nat'l Organization for Reform of Marijuana Legislation (NORML). Peter Crist of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP), a group of ex-police officers who are working to reform drug policy in this country, spoke.

+ As part of the recent UMD Call to Activism week, UMD Students for Clean Energy, MaryPIRG, and Hillel hosted "Climate Climax", which brought guests to speak on climate change today, including Maryland Senator Paul Pinsky and Mike Tidwell, head of the Chesapeake Climate Action Network.
o Student Housing Crisis
+ Tad Greenleaf, Speaker of the Student Government Association, speaks about the University of Maryland's housing situation, in which a few hundred upcoming seniors were denied on-campus housing. They were told only 2 weeks ago, well after the point for seeking off-campus housing. In response, SGA setup a week-long tent city protest on McKeldin Mall to garner attention and resolve the situation.

+ Stacia is the president of the UMD chapter of Students for Sensible Drug Policy. She comes onto TFRP to discuss her fight to change the drug policy on campus to equalize the penalties for alcohol and marijuana consumption. She also discusses some of the upcoming legislation, in the Maryland state senate as well as in national policy, that SSDP and other groups are lobbying for.

+ Amy is president of UMD for Clean Energy. She comes on to inform us about their work in promoting energy efficiency and clean energy practices at the University of Maryland and the surrounding community.
